This exercise helps teams activate their innate skills to observe and read other's behavior.
The theory behind this exercise is that we all have the ability to observe and to some extent “mind-read” other people's behavior, but many team members fail to activate this innate skill. This is because either they are too self-absorbed or too anxious to contribute, or they fear that providing feedback will create conflict.
Resilient teams are effective because members take a keen interest in one another and provide crisp, actionable feedback that not only helps the individual learn and grow, but also helps the team have a greater business impact.
